Tons of free AIFF loops in Apple Loops format
November 16th, 2006 by Derek
Macloops offers a whole ton of downloadable audio loop files in Apple Loops format, and they’re available for personal, non-commercial use for free as long as you register at the site. There are drums, guitars, synths, brass, electronica, and lots more. And while Apple Loops work natively in GarageBand and Logic, they are simply standard AIFF files with extra information about key and tempo, so you can use them in any program just like you would a standard AIFF audio sample.
If you use the loops commercially, you do need to purchase them from the original source, so consider the loops as a good learning tool, or like shareware you can try before you buy. Whether you can use them in a non-commercial podcast is not clear, however.
