Derek gives in to temptation

Okay, it turns out I couldn’t resist buying something musical in Seattle after all. You’re looking at my new hot-rodded Yamaha Pacifica guitar, which has been transformed from its stock Strat-like state with a custom pickguard and electronics, Seymour Duncan Antiquity mini-humbucker pickup, blocked vibrato mechanism, and extra-beefy strings.
The sunburst finish is particularly lovely:
Thanks to Lincoln at Emerald City Guitars for setting me up with the new instrument.
UPDATE: After a bit of research, I’ve determined that the guitar is a Pacifica 412, also known as the PAC412V, and that it originally came with two single coils and one humbucking dual-coil pickup. It is a current model, retailing for about $400 new. The hot-rod pickup appears to be a Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Firebird mini-humbucker (a reissue of the pickups from the Gibson Firebird like the one Mark from my band plays), worth about $110 USD on its own.

Nice! Too bad I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to play mine much yet.
